Newsletter #20
Hello Everyone,
I hope you are having an amazing
Halloween!
I, myself, have taken sometime to reflect and
contemplate what my next step is in my own life. I have been
asking myself; " What is it that I'd like to create next and what is
it that the Universe would like for me to do next"?
Each morning, over the last six weeks or so,
I've intentionally taken quite time to truly reflect on what would be the most exciting thing for me to do that I have
not experienced yet in my life?
And during this time of contemplation, I
write, I read through several inspirational books and I read
the Hollywood Reporter to keep myself abreast of new movies and televisions
shows that are in production (because there are so many neat ones that are
coming out that are uplifting).
Well, a few months ago, I was looking
over the productions that are happening in LA and I happened to notice that
Vince Van Pragh was the Executive Producer of a new show on and that John
Gray was the writer. And I stopped to think -- wow! John Gray the writer of
Men Are From Mars And Woman Are From Venus is now
writing for TV? How cool is that! Then I thought: I wonder what kind of
show it is? I wonder what it is like to switch from writing a book to
writing for television?
Well, about two days after that I received a call
from a friend of mine that was part of a charity event that was donating a
building to the homeless in downtown LA. My friend was being honored
at this event and I was asked if I would like to attend. And of course, I said
sure I would love to.
So, on a Monday night in Beverly Hills, I'm
attending the event and wouldn't you know -- who do you
think the main guest speaker and very dear friend to my friend is? Well,
none other than John Gray!
Furthermore, come to find out we are all
invited guests, staying at the same home, after the charity
event.
Latter that evening, I'd mentioned to John that I'd
read that he was now writing for TV and I asked him: "What's it like making the
switch from writing books to television?"
He replied; "Monique, that is another John Gray. It
is not me."
Well, I about fell on the floor. Here I was in such
contemplation when I read about 'A John Gray' writing for TV that the universe
brought me -- John Gray. But, it was not the TV writer it was the book writer
and low and behold we had an amazing conversation about how he feels before he
starts the process of writing his new book.
It was exactly what I needed to hear!
I'm in the process of writing my book proposal and
I'm going through many feeling of overwhelm, isolation and oh, my! How on earth will I ever get this finished? So much so that
I've just stopped doing it....for the moment.
But, here not only do I get a sign of what my
next step was but I manifested one of the most successful writers of our time to
speak with and tell me about his process.
I tell you, these moments of contemplation are so
powerful. I'm continual amazed at the power of reflection, feeling and listening
for guidance.
So, I encourage you strongly. If there is anything
you are wanting to achieve or if you are simple wanting to know what your next
step is: sit quietly contemplate, dream and imagine. Because experiences
beyond your wildest imagination WILL materialize.
